Liam James Payne (born August 29, 1993) is an English singer. He is best known as a member of the boy band One Direction. Payne made his singing debut in 2008 while auditioning for the British television series The X Factor. After dropping out of the competition, he auditioned again in 2010 and was placed in a group with four other contestants to form One Direction, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time.
